Aldridge 2nd XI continued their good start to the season with a good home win over Tamworth 3rd XI. Weather conditions could not have been more different to the bright sunshine of the opening weekend of the season as the game was played out in cold winds and persistent rain. The result of the toss was the same as last week though, with Aldridge losing it and being asked to bat first. What followed, however, was a top quality opening partnership between Tahir Mohammed and Ben Arblaster, with the former going on to make a well deserved century (113) and the latter falling just short on 92. This partnership provided a great platform for the innings and thanks to a well made 36 not out from Samuel Keeling, Aldridge 2nd XI posted a very competitive total of 282-3 from 50 overs in trying conditions.

Worsening weather made things increasingly difficult for both sides, but the Aldridge 2nd XI bowlers coped with the conditions well and were soon making an impact. Robert Steadman took four early wickets (all bowled), with Matt Graham and George Handsaker also chipping in. Adnan Pervaiz proved very difficult to play throughout his spell and his four wickets closed the innings with Tamworth 3rd XI finishing on 153 from 37.5 overs.
